The story of "Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay drama" is about, three cousins: Aswad, Mehreen, and Mashal. Aswad is humble and friendly, and close to both Mashal and Mehreen. Mashal is known for her beauty and is in love with Aswad. Mehreen is poor but simple. Mehreen's cousins always bully for being poor. Mehreen's grandmother hates her because of her dad is a drug addict. One day, Mehreen's dad dies due to overdosing of heroine. Mehreen's mother gets remarried and moves abroad. Mehreen lives with Mashal's parents and her grandmother, everybody hates her. Mehreen lives a lonely life; however, she is smart academically. She is into all of her university's extra-curricular activities. She loves to debate and is a talented artist. Her friends admire her which makes Mashal really envious of her. Mashal is really beautiful and clever. Mehreen’s friend's cousin, Saffan, becomes interested in Mehreen…..

However, this is no simple romance. The story actually touches on a lot of serious topics, skillfully questioning both societal norms and many of the stereotypes our dramas love to perpetuate in pursuit of ratings.
